QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTERING THIS GRADE Students are required to have completed and passed the Third Grade Curriculum before entering Fourth Grade. CURRICULUM OVERVIEW Our program involves non-denominational Biblical teaching and prayer. A Beka text books are used for math, language, spelling, poetry, and science. Positive Action for Christ text books are used for Bible.
Reading Program The following books are read throughout the year: Song of the Brook (novel), Saved at Sea (novel), Salute to Courage, Liberty Tree, Flags Unfurled, Trails to Explore, and Adventures in Other Lands. Comprehension Quizzes Language Recognizing and writing good sentences. Letters. The writing process. Punctuation. Capitalization Parts of speech. Dictionary work. Research reports and book reports. Spelling Weekly spelling tests and activities Penmanship Cursive writing with creative writing. Homework Homework is assigned and sent home Monday through Thursday. Consistency and parent involvement is encouraged. PE twice a week for 45 min.. Computer Lab for 45 min.	Arithmetic Whole numbers Measures (Metric and English) Average numbers. Fractions: adding, subtracting, and multiplying. Roman numerals 1 – 1,000 Divisibility rules Correct change. Thermometer. Equations containing unknown number. Graphs. Scale drawings. Perimeter and area of polygrams. History A look through the United States from discovery to the present. Science: Health Bones, Muscles, Respiratory System, Personal Hygiene, and Right Relationships. Bible Hymns/choruses Memory verses Bible doctrine Lessons such as Salvation Series, Genesis, Life of Christ and many more.
